Ian Bettinson English born, lived and taught in Australia 1986- 2014, presently lives and works in Yorkshire, UK; 1986 / 1989 Wynne Prize winner and 2004 Country Energy Art Prize winner.
Sally Gabori Born 1924 on Bentick Island - 2015. One of the leading contemporary Australian artists, currently the subject of a recent retrospective at the Queensland Art Gallery and presently National Gallery of Victoria. Her work made a mark internationally including the Musée du Quai Branly, France and the Museum of Contemporary Aboriginal Art, the Netherlands, as well as all Australian State Galleries and the National Gallery of Australia. 2013 she was honoured to be invited to exhibit in Personal Structures as part of the 55th Venice Biennale, held at Palazzo Bembo.
David Rankin English born, migrated to Australia in 1948 and lived, worked and taught in Melbourne until 1989, when he moved to New York with his wife, poet and novelist Lily Brett. He won numerous prizes including the 1983 Wynne Prize. Among his many commissioned works are The Scorched Earth, 1984-85, diptych at the Victorian Arts Centre, Melbourne.
Djirrirra Wunungmurra Also known as Yukuwa, was born in Arnhem Land, presently lives and works in the Northern Territory. 2008 winner Togart Contemporary Award, Darwin, NT; 2012 winner Bark Painting and People's Choice Award of 29th Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Award. 2007 was her major exhibition part of Cross Currents at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney, curated by John Stringer. Collections: NGA Canberra, AGNSW Sydney and QAG Brisbane, Kerry Stokes Collection WA and Liz Laverty Sydney.
